A big crowd turned out but that's to be expected at this store which features a staff of knowledgeable, reader-friendly booksellers, including Kathy Baker, a recipient of the RWA Bookseller of the Year award. It was a standing room only crowd -- literally -- because there was no room for chairs! This arrangement has one HUGE advantage from my point of view. I have discovered that members of the audience are a lot less likely to doze off if they're on their feet. The insightful questions revealed another closely guarded secret

Q: Do you have input over covers of your books
A: I didn't at the start of my career, when it would have been really great, but now that I do, it turns out I have no visual sensibility. Fortunately I've got a great editor who does, Leslie Gelman

As usual, Sara Reyes of Writerspace.com fame was in the audience, along with members of her wild and reckless readers group. Photos were taken, whether or not they were suitable for posting on a PG website such as this one remains to be seen.
