The large, lean and potentially dangerous male is in this particular Oregon restaurant for only one reason. To collect Reva Waring as he had stated exactly 4 months ago. It didn't matter that Josh Corbett was not particularly wanted back in Reva's life. After all he had saved Reva's life in South America and he was now free to collect on all the unsaid promises of there last night together. Much to Josh's disgust Reva is considering marriage to Bruce a sophisticated urban professional. Reva is having none of Josh's plans for a lovers reunion. Their 3 days in the jungle was a nightmare, and she wants nothing to remind her of those events. But Josh wants Reva and informs her that he has come to claim her and marry her. So the two ex-lovers are at different poles.

Josh ends up moving himself onto the couch in Reva's apartment and the battle of the sexes begins. Josh vows to seduce Reva, to wear her down, and wear her out until she becomes his legally and emotionally. Reva's ploy to keep her distance starts to unravel when she learns that Josh is not the mercenary fighting machine she thought. But he is far from the sensitive, tame professional Reva believes will suit her best. Josh only wants Reva no matter what.

The ensuing story is vintage JAK written under her Jayne Castle name. The hero is a little wild, a little dangerous and all male. The female is full of fire, wit and just enough self-doubt to let the reader relate. Reva worries about her past mistakes in men and is almost sure Josh is another mistake, she needs to take control of. Not to worry he turns out to be the perfect man for her, arrogance and all.

Josh Corbett helped Reva Waring out of a dangerous situation when she was vacationing in South America. After spending three days together he puts her on a plane back to the states. Before she leaves Josh says to wait for him and that he'll be back.

Four months have gone by and Reva has started dating and moved into a new apartment. The only remnants of her trip are nightmares of getting attacked, and the sweet memory of one night with Josh Corbett.

Reva never thought he would keep his word, when he suddenly appears in her life again. He is demanding to have what is his. Reva tries to convince him that what they had is over and that she doesn't want him, or so she says.....

Josh plays on her nurturing nature to prove to Reva that she really wants the passion that he could give her. Will she surrender to his "Right of Possession?"

I really enjoyed the way Josh thought he was all high and mighty, pushing his way back into Reva's house and befriending her stray cat Xavier. It showed his soft side and well as the hard and difficult one.
