Savannah Emery, a beautiful woman angry over losing her "man" to another. Enter the fray, one Cord Harding, Savannah's boss and the one man determined to make her his.

Savannah, feeling down and a tad angry over losing the man she thought was hers, decides to play cards. She has a winning streak going when she sees Cord headed her way. She decides to quit while she is ahead. But, Cord is not to be deterred and goads Savannah into a game of twenty-one with only him.

Cord says he wants to play her for a weekend and Savannah feeling reckless after drinking a bit too much agrees to his terms. She has no intention on honoring the bet but doesn't tell Cord this. This doesn't deter Cord one bit and he ruthlessly pursues her. He claims to want a weekend with her, but Savannah realizes she wants more. She wants Cord to love her and to be hers forever. Can she hope to trap him as thoroughly as he has trapped her?

In the end both realize they are after the same thing...a lifetime together. It was gratifying to watch Cord ensnare Savannah and her to do the same to him. A tastefully written story of love and desire. Neither of these like to lose, but what they win in the end is far greater.

Savanna Emery thought she was unbeatable that night playing cards at a party and couldn't resist the challenge her boss Cord Harding gave her to play him. Soon her luck changed and found herself betting a weekend with Cord, telling herself she wouldn't go through with it because she was going on vacation. However, Cord had every intention of collecting what he won.

Wagered Weekend in some ways is similar to Queen of Hearts in that Adam and Cord are similar and Janna and Savannah are similar as well. I really liked the moment when Savannah opened her door after making the great escape and finding Cord on the other side. I could almost see the look on her face when it happened. I really enjoyed the book and loved it when a girl who was determined to marry Cord showed up unexpectedly and Savannah was ready to rip her blonde hair out.

This book was good, but to me it was almost a rewrite of Queen of Hearts (I know Jayne doesn't do that though).
