It turns out that people with strong psychic talents often have trouble in the relationship department. To assist members in finding compatible spouses and life partners, the Society has instituted a unique matchmaking agency – arcanematch.com -- to help match members of the Society. But the heroes and heroines of the series aren't the easiest couples to match. Far from it. They've all got "issues" that have made even the experts at arcanematch.com throw up their hands.

Established by the Arcane Society in the Late Victorian era, the psychic detective firm of Jones & Jones now has branches throughout the U.S. The West Coast office is located in the secluded beachside town of Scargill Cove on the Northern California coast. It is run by Fallon Jones, a descendent of Sylvester the Alchemist.

On a day-to-day basis J & J handles investigations for members of the Society who desire the services of psychic investigators. On occasion it also performs some highly classified work for a clandestine agency of the U.S. Government. But everyone in the Society knows that J & J’s most important client is the Governing Council of the Arcane Society. When the Society’s secrets are threatened, J & J is called in to handle the problem.
